ALBANY (4/9/18) The campaign for Eddie Sundquist today filed over 2,000 qualifying signatures to designate Sundquist for New York’s 23rd District Democratic Congressional Primary on June 26th. A total of five Democratic candidates are expected to file for the Democratic runoff to take take on incumbent Republican Congressman Tom Reed in November.
Prior to running for Congress, Sundquist was a teacher and is currently an attorney. Sundquist said those skills and experience from the positions will help him as a Congressman because they are positions that focus on helping others. Sundquist said as a public servant, he is intent on helping people.
Sundquist released the following statement:
“This strong showing in petitions shows that the district is ready for a new generation of leadership in Washington. I have shown throughout the campaign that I am the candidate to bring jobs back to the Southern Tier and it is clear that that message is resonating with the voters of the 23rd district. I will continue to work tirelessly to win this primary and give the people of this district someone who will finally represent their interests in Congress.”
